If you want to know what Sea Kayaking is really all about and how to enter the sport, then this is the programme for you. One full day of theory and practical training covering boat & paddle dynamics, equipment, applied skills (paddle strokes) and rescue techniques.

This programme does what it says on the tin, it introduces participants to the sport of Sea Kayaking, providing a realistic view of the correct and necessary equipment to buy (without wasting money), where to get your equipment as well as training to develop skills to carry out basic manouvures in/on a kayak i.e. forward & backward movement, steering & control as well as sideways control of a kayak.

This is a good preparation programme for the BCU Star 2 award. The programme takes place on calm, inland water at Alton Water Watersports Centre. The morning session is classroom based with applied skills being taught in the afternoon. The start guideline time is 10am and your booking will be confirmed by email.

A basic sea safety programme with the objective of providing participants with the basic skills to operate safely along the UK coastline as well as deal with any minor emergencies.

The programme is predominantly practical based focusing on rescue techniques, towing techniques and basic first aid and survival as well as calling in help. Discussion around ’green light, red light’ technique and evaluating the prevailing conditions as well as weather forecasts and ensuring adequate planning and contingency planning.

A ’must do’ programme for anyone paddling along the UK coastline. And a lot of fun. The guideline start time is 10am and all your course details will be confirmed by email.

This programme is suitable for novice and intermediate paddlers using either sit-on-top kayaks or sea kayaks. Best suited to sea kayaks.

The programme is delivered in Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset on the following dates;
22nd May, 19th June, 24th July, 21st August, 25th September 2009 and can be ’bolted on’ to the 3 day Dorset Jurassic Coast Trip.
