Before you book

Is there a minimum age?

Yes. All our courses, trips and coaching are for adults aged 18 and over. We don't accept bookings for anyone under 18.

Do I need to be fit?

You don't need to be an athlete, but this is a physical activity. Expect to paddle for several hours, carry your kayak a short distance and climb back into it, with help, after a capsize.

You'll get the most from the day if you are reasonably active, have average flexibility and are within a healthy weight range. If you take little or no regular exercise, are very inflexible or are well above average weight, call us first and we'll advise honestly on what will work for you.

By the end of the day, fresh air, sun and steady paddling will tire most people. That is normal.

Which course should I start with?

If you're new to sea kayaking, start with Learn to Kayak in a Day. It's the first step on the NOMAD development path, followed by Coastal Confidence and the Safety & Recovery Masterclass.

If you're unsure where you fit, book a free call and we'll tell you honestly.

Why book 1-to-1 coaching instead of a group course?

1-to-1 coaching is designed around you. Every element is tailored to your goals, ability and pace, with focused expert instruction, faster progress and direct feedback throughout the day.

We agree a coaching plan with you in advance, and you receive a structured debrief to guide your next steps. It's the most effective way to build skill and confidence, and it's best suited to paddlers who take their progression seriously.

Can I talk to you before I book?
