Health, disability and confidentiality

Can I take part with a disability or health condition?

In many cases, yes. Give us as much detail as you reasonably can when you book, and your Lead Guide or Coach will contact you to talk it through.

We'll make reasonable adjustments where they are safe and practical.

What do I need to tell you?

Anything that could affect your safety or your ability to take part, especially in a group. For example: heart conditions, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, back or shoulder problems, a previous shoulder dislocation, limited mobility, severe allergies, fear of deep water, limited swimming ability, pregnancy, recent surgery, or medication that affects alertness.

We can't know about a condition unless you tell us. Leaving something out may mean you can't take part on the day.

Will my condition mean I'm treated differently?

No. Everyone books the same way, pays the same price and receives the same information. Your Lead Guide or Coach may need to plan the day around you, for example allowing extra time to help a wheelchair user into a kayak, and they'll explain anything that affects your event beforehand.

Who sees my medical information?

Only Kurt and the Lead Guide or Coach running your event. We use it to keep you safe and handle it in line with our Privacy Notice, linked at the bottom of every page.

Can I talk to my coach in confidence?

Yes. Ask for a confidential call when you book, and your Lead Guide or Coach will call you directly.
